Does dark oil automatically mean it needs changing?
Oil color alone does not determine its condition or the correct service interval. Follow the vehicle’s maintenance guidance and have unusual oil consumption, leaks or changes in engine operation inspected.
Is an oil maintenance reminder the same as an oil pressure warning?
No. A maintenance reminder usually indicates scheduled service. An oil pressure warning can indicate an urgent lubrication problem. Follow the instructions in your owner’s manual; do not assume an oil change alone will resolve the cause.
